Interviewer: Where were you when 9/11 happened?
Interviewee: “I was in my house, watching Barney with my two-year-old, when my husband came in from getting coffee at Dunkin’ Donuts, and asked me if I knew what was happening. I said no and he said, “They’re blowing up New York.” Then I turned off Barney and turned on NBC News just in time to see the second plane hit the tower.”

Interviewer: Describe how you felt when it happened.
Interviewee: “Devastated. Shocked. I couldn’t imagine what was happening, no one knew what was happening at first. And then when they started say it was a terror[rist] attack, it was frightening because we never had such a thing happen in our country before and it was… shocking, to say the least. It shook me to my core.”

Interviewer: How did YOU personally live this event?
Interviewee: “My brother-in-law who lived a couple blocks away from the World Trade Center, was discussing with his friend Robbie, who worked in the twin towers where they wanted to meet for lunch over AOL instant message, when Robbie said, “hold on a minute, somethings going on here.” He then said, “hold on, I’m going up to the roof.” He later ended up dying due to the 9/11 attacks.”
